    The New York City (NYC) Marathon occurs once a year on the first Sunday in November and is the largest marathon in the world. In 2017 over 50,000 people from more than 100 countries participated in the race. For anyone unaware of how long a marathon is, it's 26.2 miles or 42.2 kilometers.
